Youth mentorship, wellness and teacher training programs in Kenya
Camps that change trajectories. Sessions that stay all year.
Every Mizani program is built around the whole person and shaped by the 4Cs. Participants leave thinking and acting differently as members of their communities.
Mentorship camps for teens
Held in Sekenani, Narok County, near the Maasai Mara, our immersive multi-day camps bring teens and pre-teens together for structured mentorship, peer connection, physical wellness and deep engagement with all 4Cs. Camps are where transformation becomes visible, and where young people who are often overlooked discover they have a place and a purpose.
Holistic wellness sessions
School and community sessions covering physical health, emotional literacy, social skills and mental wellbeing, delivered through our whole-person curriculum. Young people get consistent, trusted touchpoints throughout the year, not just at annual camps.
We are integrating Six Bricks, a LEGO-based playful learning tool, into our facilitation for hands-on learning that sticks.
Capacity building for teachers
Dedicated camps and conferences for teachers and school staff, equipping them with our whole-person framework, 4Cs tools and practical facilitation skills. When educators are equipped, every young person in their classroom benefits. This is how Mizani scales.
"Proper menstrual hygiene is empowerment."
Girls cannot fully participate when basic menstrual needs go unmet. Through our Period Party events and hygiene packs, we keep girls in camps, in classrooms and in their own lives with dignity intact.
How we know our work is working
To track the wellbeing and progress of the young people in our programs, Mizani uses the Miracle Foundation's Thrive Scale™, a five-domain assessment.
- Education
- Physical and mental health
- Family and social relationships
- Home finances
- Living conditions
The Thrive Scale™ is not our core business. Our core business is developing whole people. It is our evidence layer: a tested tool that shows us what is working and where to go deeper.
